Showcased during the pandemic at the exhibition Beyond-human-power

Title: Scream of Virus
Inventory number: 2020#13
作品《病毒的尖叫》传递出一种深深的焦虑。物体无法看见病毒,但能够强烈地感受到它存在于体内。就像是新冠病毒,看不见,却能够以非人力可为的方式这样或那样地影响着我们所有人。The artwork ‘Scream of virus’ conveys a feeling of deep-seated anxiety. The object cannot see the virus itself but feels strongly of something inside. Just like covid. It’s not possible to see, but affects us all in one way or another beyond-human-power.

About the exhibition
The continuous spread of the novel coronavirus and the emotions it has caused have become the most direct and vivid explanation of force majeure, something beyond the control of human power. In most cases, the first thing that people think of is ruthless nature. The virus is an invasion of aliens and yet is not caused by nature alone. Its development involves human economic and social activities. In the end, our bodies will inevitably suffer the most from the things beyond human power. We invite artists worldwide to use their unique artistic creations to make their voices heard in this particular period and context.

What is amber?
Amber stones is formed when tree resin is trapped and fossilized under layers of sediment, and over time the resin becomes hardened and crystallized. Amber has been prized for its beauty and unique physical properties for thousands of years. Amber stones is often used in jewellery and is known for its warm, yellow or orange color.

Abstract Dogs

Ongoing collection on TEZ, Objkt.com

Abstract Dogs is a digital art collection hosted on the Tezos (TEZ) blockchain, a decentralized platform recognized for its eco-friendly approach to NFTs (non-fungible tokens). The collection is available on Objkt.com, one of the leading marketplaces for buying, selling, and discovering NFT art created on Tezos. For those more familiar with Web2 platforms like Instagram or Etsy, think of Objkt.com as a marketplace for digital collectibles and art, where ownership is verified through blockchain technology. It’s like owning a unique, certified piece of art, but in digital form, with a public record of ownership (certificate of authenticity) stored securely on the blockchain.

The girl with the candlelight

When I finalized this artwork, I went on OpenSea and lazy minted it, then put it up for auction. Deep down, I knew that was a mistake. I felt something was wrong. Thankfully, the auction ended without closing the deal, so now its future is set for its real purpose. For me, it's a charity piece of art. Always will be.

The girl with the candlelight, and other ARTBYTOTTO pieces, were exhibited at some of the early Chicago-based imnotArt community sessions in Cryptovoxels. It also has a place of its own in a minimal architecture gallery in the Substrata metaverse. I love the combination of minimal architecture, finding light & shadows, and putting digital art on the walls.

The girl with the candlelight 2.0
Work-in-progress. It might be ready during 2024 (or not). I use the original as input. The problem with today's AI tools is that the output might not be as you want—too much non-personality. You always want your human touch on your art, even if you work digitally. For me, The girl with the candlelight is like the Swedish Lucia, who comes and brightens up the winter darkness every 13th of December.

What is Open Sea and lazy minting?
OpenSea is one of the largest online marketplaces for buying, selling, and trading NFTs (non-fungible tokens). It's like an eBay for digital art, collectibles, and other blockchain-based items, where creators can showcase their work and buyers can purchase or bid on unique digital assets. NFTs on OpenSea are stored and verified on a blockchain, most commonly Ethereum, ensuring authenticity and ownership.
Lazy minting is a feature that allows artists and creators to create (or "mint") an NFT without paying upfront blockchain fees (called "gas fees"). Normally, minting an NFT involves costs, but with lazy minting, the NFT isn’t fully created on the blockchain until someone decides to buy it. At that point, the buyer covers the gas fees, making it a more affordable option for creators to list their work.In simple terms, lazy minting lets creators list NFTs for sale without having to pay anything upfront.

Findings on Mars

This collection consists of 1/1 artworks. There will be a maximum of 3 pieces in this collection. The first one, FINDING GRΛSS ON MΛRS, came to life during a period of intensive metaverse explorations.

It has its own gallery and exhibition. It's a minimalistic build showcasing the final artwork, the original polyline sketch (also found in the catalogue raisonné), and a draft sketch.

Running Polar Bear

This collection consists of 1/1 artworks—6 in total. Running Polar Bear №1 is the first-ever artwork in the ARTBYTOTTO catalogue raisonné, Inventory number 2019#01.

№2 is probably my personal favorite (even though I try not to fall in love with my published artwork—drafting new art is better). Anyway, it's a very important artwork for me. The layer that gives the sense of snow in this piece later inspired the creation of Scream of Virus. That, in turn, led to Independent & Image Art Space giving me the opportunity for my first-ever art exhibition. I will never forget this.

Running Polar Bear №4 was exhibited in an early imnotArt exhibition. I’ll never forget that either. They featured some of my pieces during the early days.
